Position Overview:
We’re seeking a Multimedia Intern to support our creative team in capturing and organizing visual content during client content days, editing photos and videos, managing digital assets, and assisting with on-site coverage at the State Fair of West Virginia. This is a hands-on internship ideal for a motivated student or recent graduate who’s passionate about visual storytelling, content creation, and marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in capturing high-quality photo and video content during client content days across the region

  • Edit photos and video clips for use across digital platforms, including social media, websites, and email marketing

  • Organize and maintain our digital asset manager (DAM) for efficient file storage, tagging, and retrieval

  • Support the creative and strategy team on-site at the State Fair of West Virginia, including content capture, vendor engagement, and live posting

  • Prep and maintain camera and audio gear for shoots

  • Help storyboard and plan content in advance of shoots, including shot lists and concept brainstorming

  • Crop, resize, and export content for specific platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)

  • Assist with basic graphic design tasks using templates (ex: Canva) when needed

  • Participate in creative team meetings and provide input on content ideas and campaign strategies

  • Conduct light research to support video scripting, creative planning, or client storytelling

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or similar photo/video editing tools

  • Experience using DSLR/mirrorless cameras and basic video/audio gear

  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends during events

  • A collaborative, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative

  • Must be based in or able to commute to Charleston, WV

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience with drone footage or Reels/TikTok-style editing

  • Are familiar with social media platforms and current content trends

  • Love fairs, festivals, and Appalachian culture
