Fall Marketing Intern

Fall Marketing Intern (Fairmont, WV)
Location: Fairmont, WV
Position Type: Internship (Fall 2026)
Department: Creative
Reports To: Director of Visual Media & Production

About Us:
At The Social Bee Marketing Agency, we’re storytellers, content creators, and strategy-driven marketers rooted in West Virginia—but our impact reaches far beyond. We proudly serve clients across the country, from fairs and festivals to nonprofits and community-focused organizations. We help our clients shine by putting their mission center stage. Our work is fast-paced, fun, and meaningful—and we're looking for a multimedia intern to join our hive this summer!

Position Overview:
This isn’t an internship where you’ll spend the semester doing one thing.

Our Fall Marketing Intern will work alongside different members of The Social Bee team and get hands-on experience across multiple areas of the agency. One day you might be helping prepare for a client meeting, and the next you could be assisting with a content shoot, brainstorming social media ideas, organizing projects, or helping our creative team.

The goal is to give you exposure to the different roles that make an agency run while helping you discover where your own strengths and interests might fit.

What You Might Work On:

Depending on the week, client needs, and current projects, you may:

  • Assist with social media planning, content creation, scheduling and research

  • Brainstorm content ideas, campaigns and creative concepts

  • Help capture photo and video content during client content days

  • Assist with basic photo and video editing

  • Support graphic design projects and create content using established templates

  • Sit in on client meetings and learn how our account executives manage client relationships

  • Help prepare meeting agendas, notes, recaps and follow-up items

  • Assist with project and account management

  • Learn how projects move through an agency from request to completion

  • Help organize digital assets, client files and internal resources

  • Conduct research for client campaigns, content and strategy

  • Assist with administrative and organizational tasks that keep the agency moving

  • Participate in internal team meetings, brainstorms and planning sessions

  • Help with occasional client events, content days or on-site projects

  • Work alongside team members across account management, creative, communications and production

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Media, Journalism, Business or a related field

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Comfortable learning new programs, platforms and processes

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and current digital trends

  • An interest in marketing, communications, content creation or agency life

  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow through on assignments

  • Willingness to ask questions, take feedback and learn

  • A positive, collaborative attitude

  • Ability to take initiative when you see something that needs to be done

  • Based in or able to commute to Fairmont, West Virginia

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, photography, video editing or social media management is helpful, but you do not need to be an expert in all of these areas. That’s what the internship is for.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Love creating content and keeping up with social media trends

  • Have experience with photography or video

  • Enjoy graphic design or have experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

  • Are interested in client relations and account management

  • Are organized and enjoy keeping projects moving

  • Want to learn more about several areas of marketing instead of specializing in just one

What You'll Gain:

This internship is designed to give you real agency experience, not just something to add to your résumé.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work alongside professionals across multiple marketing disciplines

  • Experience the day-to-day operations of a full-service agency

  • Work on real client projects

  • Build portfolio-worthy work

  • Learn how agencies manage clients, deadlines and deliverables

  • Gain experience with the tools and systems used by a working marketing agency

  • Develop stronger communication, organization and creative skills

  • Explore different marketing career paths before deciding where you want to specialize

  • Receive mentorship and feedback from members of The Social Bee team

Most importantly, you’ll leave with a much better understanding of how all the pieces of marketing work together and what it takes to serve clients as part of an agency team.
